Wells County Trails Blog

On a damp Saturday in October Wells County Trails held our first event. The weather had other plans for this day but we had dedicated trail users who braved the rain to get out on the Bluffton Rivergreenway. Even in the rain the trail showed off its beautiful fall colors. The Wabash Fall Bash highlighted the value of having trails in our community. Whether you enjoy to run, bike or walk on the trails they help keep users safe and promote getting outdoors and healthy living. We would like to thank our event sponsors WEG, John and Jolin Whicker, Bluffton Roofing, Nick Huffman Steffen Group, and Box Drop Fort Wayne for helping make this event possible. Wells County Trails is dedicated to provide access to trails for everyone throughout Wells County. This event and many more in the future help to make this a reality. If you wish to show off your #WellsCountyTrails pride and help support our organization financially pick up a bumber sticker ($5) or a t-shirt ($10). Lets get the word out about the bright future for Wells County trails! You can contact us via email, phone 260.820.1671, or through facebook messenger

Bluffton City Council approved funding for engineering for the proposed river greenway and interurban trail connection as well as a trail extension that would go to the old Bluffton Cemetery. This will help our community qualify for next level trails funding. #wellscountytrails

The Ossian walking trail has been used for many events. On February 13, 2016 the Ossian Rolls held a Love/Walk Run. Here are the winners of the of the oldest combined age category. Bill Dunn (92) and Lois Swihart (81), what an awesome couple. This proves you are never too old to enjoy trails.
